Bolder has a simple mission; to champion people who are redefining what it means to grow older and turn around negative perceptions about aging. The online platform has an equally simple formula; beautiful portraiture coupled with inspirational stories. Subjects so far include Muffie Grieve, who won two international tennis competitions in her 80s, Jennifer Murray, 74, holder of three Guinness world records in aviation and Eve Branson, philanthropist (and mother to Richard), the 'boldest' interviewee yet, at 91.
Launched in March 2015, Bolder is run by friends and former colleagues Helen Cathcart and Dominique Afacan, a photographer and writer respectively.
Helen is a lifestyle photographer specialising in travel, food, interiors and portraits. After studying Photography and Art Direction she started her career as a Photo Director working on various titles including a short stint on British Vogue. After a move to Sydney in 2010 she made the transition to full time photographer and now shoots for various magazines and brands and has photographed numerous cookbooks. She has since returned to London where she is currently based.
Dominique is a magazine editor and freelance travel writer. She edits a magazine called The Superyacht Owner and writes regularly for a wide range of travel magazines and websites including Australian Gourmet Traveller, easyJet Traveller, nMagazine, Mr & Mrs Smith and The Simple Things. She has lived in Hong Kong where she ran the editorial offices for Asia at Ink Global, the world's biggest in-flight publishers. Beyond her writing work, she acts as a content consultant for a number of agencies including Redwood, Ledbury, QUO Global and RLJ Entertainment. Now back in London, she spends a lot of time travelling for her freelance work.
