Geoff Waring
Geoff Waring is a bold, imaginative and stylish artist. His work has a stand out clarity and wit and he is expert in using art and design to interpret and communicate all kinds of subjects from fashion and lifestyle to complex science ideas. His passion has always been image making, drawing or photographing anything and everything – and making complex ideas simple and visual.
After studying Graphic Design at Manchester University Geoff moved back to
London and began a career as a magazine designer and art director, often
working internationally. Formerly Creative Director of Glamour magazine and Easy
Living, Design Director for Vogue and Art Director for Vogue Australia and Elle, Geoff now does freelance art directing
for clients including Boden, M&S, Monsoon, Tatler, Cath Kidston and Clarks.
Geoff's Oscar science book series for
young children, which he both wrote and illustrated, have been published in
many languages around the world including the USA, France, Korea, Sweden and
China and have won numerous awards including The English 4-11 Award for best
Illustrated Children's Book 2006 and an award from the Maison des Sciences in
France. It has also been adopted in the USA for a number of educational
programmes. Geoff currently lives in Kent with his wife and two children.
