Geraint Jones studied History and Politics at Lancaster University. He was disappointed with the syllabus and avoided most of his lectures in favour of reading what interested him most – war.

At 23 years old Geraint deployed on his first tour of duty to Iraq. On his second he was awarded a General Officer Commanding’s Commendation “for his unselfish actions and bravery under extreme danger and pressure.” His third and final tour was to Afghanistan and formed the basis of his memoir Brothers in Arms (Macmillan, 2019).

Geraint has penned more than twenty military-themed books, both fiction and non-fiction, including two thrillers with James Patterson. Two of the non-fiction works have been optioned by major film companies. Geraint’s latest work, Voices of Victory (Macmillan, 2025) is a compelling and immersive account of a crucial period towards the end of the Second World War and was a Sunday Times Bestseller. He is also the number #1 Sunday Times bestselling author of D-Day: The Unheard Tapes (Macmillan, 2025) in which he explores powerful eye-witness accounts of The Battle of Normandy in 1944. He writes full time from his home in Wales.
