Kate Webb grew up in Hampshire before reading History at Durham University. Writing as Katherine Webb she is the author of eight historical novels several of which are Sunday Times top ten bestsellers and have been translated into 27 languages around the world. Her debut novel, The Legacy won the popular vote for the TV Book Club Summer Read 2010 and was shortlisted for Best New Writer at the 2010 Galaxy National Book Awards.

Stay Buried is her debut crime novel and the first of the DI Lockyer cold-case mysteries set in the Wiltshire countryside near her home in Bath, UK. The next book in the series, Laying Out The Bones, continues DI Lockyer’s investigations into a human skeleton that was unearthed by sudden flash flooding. When forensic testing matches the bones to a man named Lee Geary, who was accused of murdering a girl named Holly Gilbert before disappearing completely.  With the help of DC Gemma Broad, Lockyer begins to dig deeper, and discovers that two other persons of interest in the Holly Gilbert case have also either died or disappeared in the intervening years. Is this a coincidence? Or a string of murders that has gone undetected for nearly a decade. . .?
