Michael Wright
Agent(s): Mark Lucas

Michael Wright was born in Surrey in 1966.  Following an unfashionably happy education at Windlesham House and Sherborne, he graduated from Edinburgh University with a degree in English Literature and spent several years working as a theatre critic, arts columnist and literary diarist in London whilst wondering what to do when he grew up.  The answer lay in rural France, where he now lives with his wife and two daughters, fifteen very small sheep, four chickens, two goldfish, one vintage plane and a sarcastic cat.  Michael has written a long-running Telegraph column and two books covering his life there, the bestselling C’est La Folie (Bantam, 2007) and Je t’aime à La Folie (Bantam, 2011) and co-wrote Stephen Grady’s classic memoir of his time as a teenage member of the French Resistance, Gardens Of Stone.
