Peter Grimsdale is a novelist, screenwriter and TV producer. His titles include the bestselling Battlefield 3 – The Russian (with Andy McNab), Battlefield 4 – Countdown to WarJust Watch Me and Perfect Night, which was a BBC Radio 4 Book at Bedtime. Perfect Night and Just Watch Me are thrillers inspired by his BBC assignments to Sri Lanka and secret filming in Communist Albania.

A former commissioner at the BBC and Channel 4, where his credits ranged from Big Brother to Crimewatch, Peter’s work has spanned the main UK stations and the Discovery and History Channels in the USA.  He is also co-creator of ITV’s medical drama, Breathless.

High Performance – When Britain Ruled the Roads (Simon & Schuster UK, 2019) springs from a lifelong passion for cars. ‘I didn’t want to write a car book just for enthusiasts – I wanted to tell a true story about a band of brilliant, rebellious folk who happen to design cars, one that which the wider public might not have come across before, a piece of real social history which one way or another has touched everyone.’

His latest book, Racing in the Dark: How the Bentley Boys Conquered Le Mans tells the inspirational story of the Bentley Boys and Le Mans – the race they made their own and was shortlisted for the RAC Motorsport Book of the Year 2021.

He is married to writer and broadcaster Stephanie Calman.
