Robin Jarvis

Robin Jarvis has been writing children’s and young adults’ fantasy novels for more than twenty years, beginning with highly successful The Deptford Mice series in 1989 and The Whitby Witches trilogy. Recently he has returned to the setting of the gothic northern coastal town of Whitby with his dark fantasy series The Witching Legacy. Born in Liverpool, he originally trained in graphic design in Newcastle and became a model maker for television before discovering his distinctive and powerful writing talent. He usually illustrates his own work and continues to create models though CGI.

His other works include The Wyrd Museum and Dancing Jax. His work has been described as ‘genre busting’ and while he has never seen himself as a horror writer he has had his work also described as ‘Stephen King but for young adults.’

He lives and works in London.
