Sean trained in the UK under Ralph Koltai at the Central School of Art and Design and has worked for many theatres throughout the UK and abroad. A diverse range of work includes major community, international, TV and theatre projects: York Mystery Plays 2012, Chester Cycle Of Mystery Plays, Judah Ben Hur – The Musical (World Premiere, Singapore), PICKWICK (Hungarian National Theatre), Edward III (Taormina Festival); also Multimedia events such as The Rock (San Francisco), Rock Me Amadeus (Vienna), Who Do You Say I Am? (BBC TV) and over 400 other theatre productions.
Premieres include Christopher Neame’s adaptation of Graham Greene’s Monsignor Quixote, Robin Hawdon’s adaptation of The Old Devils by Kingsley Amis, Jeremy Brook’s translations of Ibsen’s Enemy Of The People and Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard.

Sean was Head of Design for the prestigious Plymouth Theatre Royal for two years prior to the theatre’s opening in 1982 and then for the first two years of its operation. He was lead designer for corporate events company The Full Effect for four years from 1998 to 2002. He is a long-standing Artistic Associate and Director of the York-based Riding Lights Theatre Company.
