Chris Riddell is one of the
leading illustrators, political cartoonists and children’s book authors of his
generation. A former Children’s Laureate UK (2015-2017) he is a champion of
reading, literacy, books, libraries and a music and poetry enthusiast.
Chris Riddell’s many bestselling
books include the Goth Girl and Ottoline series; Art Matters and
Sleeper and the Spindle (written by Neil Gaiman); My Little Book of
Big Freedoms (the Human Rights Act in pictures); New York Times
best-selling fantasy The Edge Chronicles with Paul Stewart; and several
anthologies of poetry. He is the political cartoonist for the Observer, an
ambassador for Amnesty International and Booktrust, and a former President of
the Schools Library Association. His work has featured in many different
contexts including the Alice: Curioser & Curioser Exhibition at the
V&A Museum (2021), the RHS Wonderland garden trails (2021), and
Phoebe Bridgers’ live American tour (2021).
