Dr Romain Pizzi BVSc MSc Phd DZooMed DipECZM MACVS(Surg) FRES FRGS FRSB FRCVS, is a wildlife veterinarian and the world's leading expert in wildlife surgery. Born, raised, and qualifying as a vet in South Africa, he has worked with wildlife on five continents, and now travels the globe pioneering many world-first operations on endangered wild animals. 

From the first robotic surgery in a tiger, the first keyhole surgeries in wild orangutans, and the first brain surgery on a wild bear, he has operated on everything from tarantulas to tigers, and eagles to elephants. His work with conservation charities, wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centres and zoos across the world has featured on numerous TV documentaries on the BBC as well as in the international media. He now spends much of his time working in Asia which is facing a wildlife crisis due to expanding populations, increasing affluence, and the resultant pressure on the environment.
