Kate is a highly accomplished director who has worked across a range of different media including TV, Video Games, VR, Film, Theatre and Opera. Initially having trained as an actor, Kate made the transition to directing and has since become a well-respected and sought-after director. In recognition of her work, Kate was selected as one of only 15 UK female screen directors for BAFTA Elevate in 2017-18 and was also chosen for the Directors UK High End TV Drama Award. Throughout her career, Kate has demonstrated a passion for promoting diversity and equality within the industry and was Chair of Stage Directors UK from its inception in 2014, until 2020.

Kate is particularly well-known for her work in video games, where she has directed many nominated or awarded performance capture shoots. She has worked on numerous high-profile titles, including twice BAFTA nominated Mafia III, 2016 BAFTA winner Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture, and 2015 BAFTA winner Alien: Isolation. Kate was also Lead Director of the world renowned and awarded games The Witcher II and III and Fable II and III. Kate has directed over 150 titles in total and has worked with many A-list actors, such as Michael Fassbender, Naomie Harris, Patrick Stewart, Ben Kingsley, John Cleese, Simon Pegg, Jason Isaacs and Judi Dench.

Kate also directs film and television. Recent credits include three episodes of Endeavour, amongst which Kate enjoyed the honour of directing the finale episode of the 9 year-long series. Other recent titles include ITVs Grace and BBC’s Silent Witness and Call The Midwife. She is currently in pre-production for a new feature film To The River.

In addition to this, Kate has directed over 35 theatre productions and several operas, working with writers such as Tom Stoppard and John Fowles. Kate’s expertise extends to audio drama, having directed Hell Cats I and II, original dramas, for Audible.
