Robert Morrison

Robert Morrison is a distinguished academic. He was appointed the Queen’s National Scholar at Queen’s University in Ontario, where he specialised in nineteenth-century British literature and culture. In 2017, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. He has won the Queen’s University Frank Knox Award of Excellence in Teaching on three separate occasions. Today, he is the British Academy Global Professor at Bath Spa University.

His works include The English Opium-Eater: A Biography of Thomas De Quincey, which was short-listed for the James Tait Black Prize, his annotated edition of Jane Austen’s Persuasion, and The Vampyre and Other Tales of the Macabre, which he co-edited with Chris Baldick. His most recent title, The Regency Revolution, reveals the ways in which the diverse revolutions Regency period inspire our world, and was named one of The Economist’s Books of the Year.
