Thomas Williams is an historian of the early Middle Ages and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London. An expert in early medieval, and specifically Viking, culture, he was a curator for the major international British Museum exhibition Vikings: Life and Legend  that was the subject of extensive international media coverage in 2014.  He has been widely quoted in the press and has featured on BBC TV, ITV, and BBC Radio. He appeared in Viking Adventures from the British Museum.

He is the author and editor of several books, papers, and collections. His books include Viking Britain (included in the Sunday Times and The Observer Books of the Year), and Viking London, a brief history of the interaction between the Vikings and the British to tell the story of occupation in London. An adept public speaker, he appeared at the Hay Festival and Bath Children’s Literary Festival in 2014.
