Cherry Denman trained at Oxford's Ruskin School of Drawing before going on to the Royal College of Art where she gained her MA. Cherry later taught art at Dorset Art College and City and Guilds in London. She has worked extensively in illustration and to date has illustrated more than twenty titles for children, and her artwork credentials for comics include contributions to the QI Annuals. Cherry has also worked in design for other consumer products, including creating a popular line of ceramics. The story book The Girl from the French Fort, a collaboration with celebrated Chinese author Hong Ying, launched in China Summer 2014 where it was voted the Best Children's Book in China just one week after publication.
Cherry lives alternately in London and Beijing with her husband and two children.
