Hannah Jacobs

Hannah Jacobs is a London-based illustrator and animator. She has been documenting life with coloured pencils, crayons or whatever she can get her hands on since the age of 4. She graduated with a BA in Illustration from Brighton University and an MA in Animation from the Royal College of Art.

Hannah's body of work across both illustration and animation has covered a broad range of subject matters, often focusing on her sympathetic study of human nature. She is well known for her deliberately organic style and her ability to give a human and emotional touch to all of her work. She has a unique ability to combine subtle humour and wit with more emotional and heavier themes, communicating through vibrant colour palettes and beautifully textured hand rendered illustrations.

Hannah's work has spanned editorial pieces for the New York Times, social campaigns for Google and Facebook, adverts for the BBC, and animations for Selfridges. She has been championed by Creative Review, It’s Nice That, and Vimeo, and her animated films have enjoyed much success globally, being screened at festivals including Annecy, Tribecca, and South by South West.

Hannah created the animation short for the hit viral song Dinosaurs in Love by Fenn and Tom Rosenthal and makes her debut as a children’s illustrator this autumn with a picture book version of the song, which will be published simultaneously by Little, Brown in the USA and Hachette Book Group in October 2020.
