Jane Porter is an author and illustrator with an MA in Illustration and Animation from Kingston University, and is a former winner of one of the London Book Fair Prizes for Illustration. A former gardening writer, Jane has written and illustrated several picture books including Pink Lion (Walker), King Otter (Simon & Schuster) and The Boy Who Loved Everyone (Walker). Her book, This Rabbit, That Rabbit (Baby Walker) was selected for Bookstart, the world's first national book-gifting programme. She has also illustrated a wide range of projects and designed activity trails for organisations such as London Zoo, The National Trust, English Heritage, The V & A and Kensington Palace, among others.
She often runs creative workshops and art projects for children and teaches illustration to both adults and children. She teaches Introduction to Illustration at Putney School of Art and she is a visiting lecturer on the MA Illustration programme at the University of Hertfordshire.
Jane lives in London and enjoys spending time cleaning up her local river, and learning to play the fiddle.
