We are hugely excited to announce that Escape to the Chateau has been commissioned for another two series by Channel 4! There will also be more of Escape to the Chateau: Make Do and Mend, as well as the development of a further spin-off series featuring Dick and Angel. Two Rivers Media and Chateau TV secured the major two-year deal from Channel 4 to supply new programming under the Chateau brand.

It has now been six years since the Strawbridges found Château de la Motte Husson – a derelict 19th century fairy tale chateau in the Pays de la Loire. The story of their adventure and renovation, Escape to the Chateau, is one of Channel 4’s top rated shows, averaging around 2.5 million viewers weekly. Escape to the Chateau: Make Do and Mend, which broadcast in summer 2020, was Channel 4’s most successful brand-new series launch in its 8pm slot.

Lizi Wootton, Head of Popular Factual at Two Rivers, says “Working with Dick and Angel, some of the most popular talent on-screen today, is extremely exciting and am personally delighted to be building on our long-standing relationship.” The deal was reached following the success of the seventh series, which drew a best-ever viewing average of 3.4m for the show.
