Illustrator Chris Riddell will be taking part in a host of virtual events this autumn. Most notably, he will be appearing alongside author and long-time collaborator Neil Gaiman for a livestreamed discussion on the ‘Wonder of Storytelling’. In conversation with author, editor and critic Erica Wagner, Neil and Chris will explore the art of creative collaborations – from The Graveyard Book to their showstopping new picture book, Pirate Stew. The event will be taking place online at 11AM on 3rd October. Tickets can be found here.
As well as that, Chris will be taking part in a virtual launch of his illustrated Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, published by Macmillan, on 16th September, as part of the Bath Children’s Literature Festival.
On National Poetry Day (1st October), Chris will be conducting a live illustration journey through a selection of his favourite poems from his new anthology, Poems To Save The World With.
And last but not least, on 10th October, Chris will be taking part in the British Library’s virtual Alice in Wonderland event, where he will be live illustrating characters from the book and discussing why the book still captivates him, 200 years after the birth of Sir John Tenniel, the original illustrator of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
