Ella Al-Shamahi in new BBC Documentary ‘Our Changing Planet’

Ella Al-Shamahi is back on our screens tonight in BBC Studios’ launch of a definitive seven-year diary, Our Changing Planet at 7pm on BBC One.

Joining presenters Liz Bonnin, Chris Packham, Steve Backshall, Gordon Buchanan and Ade Adepitan, all passionate about the natural world, Ella will be investigating the definitive diary of the planet’s threatened ecosystems.

For seven years, the acclaimed filmmakers of BBC Studios’ Natural History Unit will closely document six key habitats around the world, including California, the Arctic, the Maldives, and the Amazon rainforest. Over these years, BBC viewers will watch as these habitats – and the species living in them – undergo extraordinary change.

These locations are bellwethers for the health of the planet. As pressure on the natural world increases, what happens in these locations is indicative of what will happen elsewhere. Our Changing Planet will explore the rapidly unfolding ecological change and observe surprising new animal behaviours as species adapt to their shifting environments.

Join Ella and the team on this extraordinary environmental journey and watch the first episode here.
