The Little Big Things flew into the west end last week with glowing reviews and an enthusiastic audience reception. This new musical takes centre stage at Soho Place with direction by Luke Sheppard and Lighting Design by Howard Hudson.

The Little Big Things is a heart-warming new British musical that unveils the extraordinary resilience of an ordinary family when faced with life’s unexpected challenges. Inspired by the remarkable true story of Henry Fraser, a promising rugby player whose life took a dramatic turn after a diving accident, the play takes us on a journey through a family’s trials and triumphs. TLBT has an explosive pop soundtrack and features Ed Larkin; the first wheelchair user in 350 years to lead a West End Musical.

Critics have heaped praise upon TLBT, with The Guardian giving it a resounding 4/5 stars and describing it as “movingly full of the joy of being alive.” The Evening Standard was equally effusive, awarding it 4/5 stars and highlighting the stunning use of lighting design by Howard Hudson to evoke mood. They called it “one of the most uplifting, heart-swelling shows” in recent memory.

London Theatre joined the chorus of acclaim with a 4/5 star rating, noting that “a big heart drives every moment of The Little Big Things.”

What’s On Stage, however, delivered a perfect score of 5/5, calling Luke Sheppard’s direction “visionary” and the production “universal, hopeful, involving.” One critic said, “I really can’t wait to see it again.”

The Little Big Things is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of storytelling to uplift and inspire. It is now booking until 25th November 2023 at Soho Place.
