Khurrum Rahman's East of Hounslow selected as a World Book Night book 2020

10th Dec, 2019

Khurrum Rahman’s debut novel East of Hounslow has been selected for World Book Night 2020.

“As much a coming-of-age story as a full-on action thriller. Thought provoking and entirely gripping” The Guardian

“Educated me about some of the most urgent issues of our time while making me repeatedly snort with laughter’. Telegraph Books of the Year

East of Hounslow is the first of a trilogy set in Hounslow and places a lot further East. A funny, dark and compelling thriller about Jay, a happy-go-lucky small scale dope dealer in West London who gets sucked into a plot that probably will be the death of him.

So who is Jay ? Spoiled only child, drug dealer, spy, hero or terrorist. Maybe even he doesn’t know but read the book and you will find out.

World Book Night is a national celebration of reading and books that takes place on 23 April every year. Events up and down the country run by individuals and organisations celebrate the difference that reading makes to people’s lives, and everyone from publishers to librarians, and local businesses to the general public can get involved.
