Lauren Child has signed a five-book deal with new publisher Simon & Schuster, including a new Charlie & Lola book called I Am Wishing Every Minute for Christmas. Set for publication in October 2025, the books finds Lola eagerly looking forward to Christmas, but it feels far too long to wait. Luckily, her brother Charlie comes up with clever ways to make the time pass quicker.

The four books to follow in 2026 will be a new Lotta & Lola series, focusing on Lola and her best friend Lotta as they navigate important topics like manners and friendship.

On these exciting new books, Lauren has said: “I’ve wanted to create a Charlie and Lola Christmas book for nearly 25 years, and now it’s finally happening! Revisiting Charlie and Lola feels like coming home. I’m also excited about the Lotta and Lola series, which will focus on friendship and fun. It’s amazing to receive so much love from fans, both old and new, and I’m truly grateful for the support from booksellers and librarians.”
