Marvin Rees has been awarded an OBE for his outstanding work towards Bristol's local government.
When Marvin was elected Mayor of Bristol in May 2016, he became the first person of African heritage to be elected Mayor of a major European city. He was re-elected as Mayor in 2021. His charitable achievements range from building over 12,500 new homes to tackle the housing crisis in Bristol and securing the world-first Bristol City Leap deal, which plans £630 million of clean energy investment by 2028.
Huge congratulations to Marvin for this incredible recognition!
