Philip Reeve to add to Mortal Engines Universe With The Brand New Thunder City!

We are so excited to share the news that Philip Reeve is set to return to the world of Mortal Engines with the publication of Thunder City.

Thunder City is Philip’s latest adventure, which tells the story of Tamzin Pook, a fighter, who must travel from her combat arena in Margate to Thunder City where a villain has seized power. This action-packed story takes place in the same universe as Mortal Engines.

Mortal Engines first published in 2001, introducing readers to Philip Reeve’s superbly-imagined creation, the world of the Traction Era, where mobile cities fight for survival in a post-apocalyptic future. The Mortal Engines series is popular amongst adults and children alike and over half a million copies of the series have sold in the UK (TCM). Reeve’s novels have won the Guardian Children’s Award, Blue Peter Award, Smarties Gold Prize and the Carnegie Medal. Mortal Engines was adapted for a feature film produced by Lord of the Rings director, Peter Jackson.

Scholastic UK will be publishing Thunder City in September 2024.
