Poorna Bell’s In Case of Emergency is Coming To Your Screens!

We are absolutely thrilled to share the news that Poorna Bell’s debut fiction novel In Case of Emergency is being developed for TV!

The book was acquired by Brock Media whom Poorna says are an “absolute dream to be working with”. Together, Brock Media and Poorna are looking to make a show that is “truly game-changing”, seeking to empower South Asian creatives in both the production process and by bringing their voices to the screen.

In Case of Emergency tells the story of Beryl “Bel” Kumar, who has a near-death experience at work and is mortified to find that her boss has notified an ex-boyfriend from years ago, still listed in HR’s records as her next of kin. This reunion leaves Bel questioning everything. She is happy and successful with lots of friends and a flat in London. How can a woman who has it all find that she has no one to turn to in an emergency? Now Bel is determined to revisit and repair her most important relationships in order to figure out who in her life she can really depend on.

Huge congratulations to Poorna, we can’t wait to see what she and the Brock Media team do together.
