Last night at the British Book Awards Sophie Kinsella, Joanna Trollope and Jilly Cooper were honoured with a special award for Excellence in Romantic Fiction.

The segment was presented by bestselling author – and Sophie’s close friend – Jenny Colgan, who said: ‘[Kinsella] combined sharpness, jokes, romance, human warmth – as they all did – and made it look easy.’ Sophie’s award was collected by her husband Henry and sister Gemma.
