The Starlight Express Review Round-Up
Stage

The Starlight Express whizzed into Troubadour Wembley Park in June, bringing audiences along for an exhilarating ride through a world of speed, song and storytelling. ALW’s hit musical follows a children’s train set, who – with assistance from some theatre magic – spring to life, with engines zooming around racing to claim the title of fastest train in the world. We are immensely proud of Luke Sheppard (Director), Howard Hudson (Lighting Designer), Gabriella Slade (Costumer Designer) and Toby Murray (Assistant Director) for their monumental effort in getting these trains on the tracks.

‘The influence of Gabriella Slade’s iconic costume work on SIX The Musical is easy to see here, but is ramped up to eleven with a look that is a mixture of sci-fi fantasy, meets Power Rangers, meets Drag Race in space, with a hint of steampunk thrown in. It looks remarkable, with each character carefully defined by their outfit’
