Jaega Wise
Brewer, Chemical Engineer, Presenter
Agent(s): Carina Rizvi

Jaega is a professional brewer, with a best-selling book and plenty of presenting experience under her belt in both TV and radio. Having completed a degree in chemical engineering, she harnessed her talents in this area to become a co-owner and head brewer of award-winning Wild Card Brewery in East London. The brewery has just been named Best Brewery Business of the Year 2023 by the Society of Independent Brewers.

Jaega’s broad range of knowledge and expertise is a great asset to her skill and versatility as a presenter. She is a regular presenter on BBC’s Radio 4’s beloved The Food Programme (since 2019) and recently co-hosted Beer Masters with James Blunt on Amazon Prime. From guest appearances on history programmes, such as Medieval Pleasures, to more science-focused shows like Abandoned Engineering – or projects with a culinary focus such as Steph’s Packed Lunch and Food Unwrapped – Jaega really can turn her hand to anything.

Some of her most notable achievements to date are being heralded one of ‘Ten Most Influential Women in Food Right Now’ by the Waitrose Food monthly magazine and being named one of Code Hospitality’s Women of the Year 2023. She was named ‘Brewer of the Year’ in both 2018 and 2022 by the British Guild of Beer Writers and she was also listed on ‘The Progress 1000 London’s Most Influential People’ in 2018. In 2023, she was nominated for CODE Hospitality’s Women of the Year. Alongside brewing, Jaega campaigns on various issues within the brewing sphere, and is a champion of promoting women within the wider drinks industries.
