Michelle is an internationally renowned authority on interiors, style and design. Originally trained as an architect, she has over the course of her journalistic career, lived and worked in London, Los Angeles and New York.
Formerly the Editor-In-Chief of Elle Decoration UK, today she shares her passion for home and trends by regularly writing for the Financial Times and Dezeen, the world’s most influential online design magazine, as well as contributing to many other highly-acclaimed publications worldwide.
Michelle combines her writing and speaking engagements with brand consultancy and television presenting. She is the lead judge on BBC2s Interior Design Masters, (now globally available on Netflix) and co-presents Kevin McCloud's Grand Designs: House of the Year on Channel 4 as well as featuring as an expert on Inside Out Homes and The Great Interior Design Challenge.
From 2008 to 2015, Michelle was a Trustee for the Victoria and Albert Museum, where she often chaired and hosted discussions as part of the London Design Festival. She has curated talks for Soho House, alongside sharing her expertise at Liberty London and Chelsea Harbour Design Centre in addition to delivering keynote speeches at the annual British Institute of Interior Design conference and the Eighth Annual Design Leadership Summit in New York in 2013. Her first book, Happy Inside: How to harness the power of home for your health and happiness, shares her philosophy on the link between home and wellbeing.

Michelle has meticulously shaped the way our homes look and feel over the course of her career and her unique and refreshing approach is unafraid to challenge the mundane practicalities of domestic design. Her mission — to deconstruct the realms of style, design and trends by putting them into context and making them as accessible and relevant to as many people as possible.
Michelle is a self-confessed detail queen and clutter clearing obsessive who believes that re-designing one’s home can re-design the mind.
